Wednesday’s News
Had a really good day today, despite the mist and fog.  The morning was spent rock pooling in Polzeath; well done to Gabriel for finding a huge spider crab!   After lunch it was off to misty Bodmin Moor to climb Rough Tor (pronounced Row Tor, not rough!) and to look at some stone circles, the remnants of bronze age houses.

Tomorrow they are off to do some rock climbing, followed by a trip to a disused Tin Mine.

Yep, 1 more day of activity and then back to sunny London!

Tuesday’s News
All the children had a fabulous day, the weather warmed up and they walked from Padstow to Trevone, where they feasted on a picnic lunch before continuing their walk to Harlyn Bay.  The afternoon was spent in the surf and although they did need to wear 2 wet suits, a great time was had by all!

The day was nicely rounded off with a twilight trip to the beach, a bonfire, marshmallows and games.  Needless to say they all slept well, including Mrs Little and Mrs Simpson!

Monday's News
Oh what fun they had in the rain!  After a long cycle ride along the Camel trail from Wadebridge to Padstow, their efforts were rewarded with some crabbing in the harbour at Padstow.  An ice cream and a little retail therapy prepared them for the return journey - in the rain!

Back at camp, they were greeted with a delicious home cooked supper and the evening was spent playing games in the hall.  An early night for all, ready for some surfing and coastal walking tomorrow.

All are sleeping well, eating well, behaving impeccably and generally having a great time.

Arrival
After a travel sick free journey, they arrived to a wonderful, sunny, Saturday afternoon.  A quick recce of their new surroundings and off they went to the beach for some fun and games!

Yesterday was spent in St. Ives.  A presentation at The Tate Gallery was followed by some sketching at Barbara's Hepworth House.  Ice creams all round; they finished the day on the beach, where they did sand sculpting and water colours.

All slept soundly and enjoyed a hearty breakfast this morning before embarking on their hike.

All are happy, healthy and having fun!

Today, half the group made a raft that successfully set sail, whilst the other half turned their hands to sea level traversing and obstacle courses.

The weather is not quite as nice as yesterday but not too bad and the sun looks like it is coming out.  All continue to sleep like babies and eat really well.  Not long to go!

Tuesday’s News
What a difference a day makes!  The sun came out and Jo, the intrepid explorer, joined his fellow adventurers and they all spent the day canoeing Swallows and Amazons style to Wild Cat Island.  This was followed by some invigorating chill/ghyll scrambling.  They finished the day by practising rope skills and ... hey presto, Mrs Fraley’s fingers have finally thawed out and we have some pictures …

Monday's News
The children survived an heroic, wet and windy mountain hike.  They were very brave and plucky despite fairly extreme, adverse conditions.   There were some complaints of frostbite but nothing a hot shower didn't sort out on their return!   They all enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal and a well- earned hot chocolate before bed.  Sorry there are no photos but Mrs Fraley couldn’t feel her fingers in order to operate the camera!

Arrival
After a good, sick free journey, the children enjoyed getting to know their new surroundings.  Rounders in the field yesterday afternoon left them exhausted and very deserving of a delicious supper.  They all slept well, have tucked into a hearty breaksfast and have prepared their own sandwiches ready for the hilly hike ahead of them today. 

Fully refreshed after a good night’s sleep, they were delighted to acquaint themselves with some humanely caught field mice this morning.  Both Blue and Indigo Classes have a day of action packed activities planned and are looking forwarding to meeting up tonight to toast marshmallows on the campfire.  They are all having fun, behaving well and so far not one sign of homesickness!

Wednesday
Arrived safely, unpacked and made up their beds.  Pizza was on the menu for lunch and this afternoon Indigo Class has been orienteering in the woods and Blue Class has been mammal trapping. 

All the children are in good spirits and enjoying getting to know, or re-acquaint themselves, with Sayers Croft.

Thursday
Yesterday ended with a night walk for both Blue and Indigo Classes.  They visited a Celtic Round House and learned how to use their night vision on the walk back through the woods. 

Humane traps were laid and the children were delighted to find seven animals when they awoke this morning; they have all been released back into the wild (the animals that is, not the children!)

Showers, a midnight feast and hot chocolate, the children fell into bed exhausted, but happy.  All slept well and have got off to an early start this morning.

HOMEWARD BOUND
Thanks to the fire making skills of Mrs Zofia and Mrs Fraley, all the children had a brilliant campfire last night.

On the agenda today, is shelter building for Indigo and an earth walk and making corn dollies for Blue.  Lunch and then homeward bound, the coach leaves Sayers Croft at 1.30 and their ETA is 3.00. If this changes, the school office will send out an email. More photos will follow shortly.

We started the week with Ed Warner, the Chairman of UK Athletics, coming to talk about The Olympics followed by the procession of our Olympic torch, kindly donated for the week by our Olympic torch carrier, Kenny Logan, to start our own Mini Junior Olympics.

The children have enjoyed Olympic Theatre, Music and Science Workshops, visiting artist Darcy Turner and trips to Orleans Gallery.

During the week we have been creating Olympic playground sculptures, kites, medals, Mascot bags, torches and lots more. On Thursday morning the children came dressed as an Olympic Sportsperson for the day!

Our Mathletics competition is very exciting and we are proud to tell you that two classes have already made it into the top 50 classes in the world.

At the time of writing Violet are ranked at number 21 with 59,267 points with Ultra Violet hot on their heels with 58,383 points in position 23, but keep you eye on their website http://www.mathletics.co.uk as this is changing by the minute!

You don't need to sign in to Mathletics to see these results as they are under the Hall of Fame which you will see when you go to the website.

We will end the competition at the end of the school day on Friday.

Well done to all the children for trying so hard and please keep it up!
