Children’s involvement

School council

School council is elected each term by their classmates; one councillor from each class together with the head boy and girl.

The council meets weekly with the Headteacher and takes an active part in activities, such as school assemblies, charity fund-raising and suggesting ways to improve school life. One such initiative was the Buddy Bench – a good place to forge friendships!

Class monitors

Each child in Year 6 is assigned as a monitor to an infant class, for example, helping at break-time.

Serving the community

Unicorn has always been active in the local community and beyond. Participation includes singing at a nearby day care centre and support for local (and national/international) charities. The school also takes part in the Richmond Pupil Parliament.
