School charity

Mrs Linehan and the children on the School Council decide on the charities for the term. The School Committee plans termly fund-raising events.

This term

During the Spring term, the school will be supporting Room to Read, who envision a world in which all children can pursue a quality education, reach their full potential and contribute to their community and the world.

To achieve this goal, they focus on two areas where they believe they can have the greatest impact: literacy and gender equality in education.  Working in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the life skills they’ll need to succeed in school and beyond.

Last term

Last term the school supported The Poppy Factory in Richmond. This charity has been making poppies, crosses and wreaths for the Royal Family and the Royal British Legion's annual Remembrance Day appeal for 90 years. They also help wounded, sick and injured ex-armed forces men and women, who have valiantly served their country, back to work.
