Unusually for a primary school, we dedicate Thursday afternoons to extra-curricular clubs for Juniors, so they can experience and develop a wide range of interests. Clubs include climbing and archery, cookery, drama, golf, ice skating, film club, modern dance, pottery, riding, sailing, ski, squash, tennis and trampolining. Parents are asked to assist, either with transport or with the actual running of a club. Over the years we have been very lucky to have grandparents and retired staff members running their own clubs.
We also run activity clubs during and after school, for children in Yellow Class upwards, which include karate, musical theatre, swimming, chess and modern dance. Little Star Writing Club provide a fun and relaxed environment for the children to unleash their imaginations, learn new writing rules and structures and try their hand at something new. Each workshop is taught using a variety of games, activities, presentations, group work, writing challenges and competitions.
An optional homework club is available, free of charge, from 3.30pm until 5.00pm each day.
