Although we are only aware of a few cases of flu at present, we would like to advise you on how to recognise flu and to remain vigilant.
The symptoms of flu include a fever of 38°C or higher, and two or more of the following symptoms:
• unusual tiredness
• headache
• runny nose
• sore throat
• shortness of breath or cough
• loss of appetite
• aching muscles and joints
• diarrhoea and/or vomiting
If you suspect that your child has flu, he/she must not be sent to school and should limit his/her contact with others.
If you need medical advice, please contact your GP or contact NHS Direct by calling 0845 4647 or visit their website at: www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.
Please do not send your child back to school until he/she is fully recovered.
Thank you for your assistance in reducing the impact that flu has on our school community.
