Gold for our Year 6 netball team
It was fantastic to hear the terrific recent success of the Year 6 netball team, winning all their matches in the Prospect House small schools netball tournament. There has also been some excellent play by other netball and football teams in the juniors and it has been wonderful to see their smiley faces when they return. We have invested a lot in the sports department in recent years, building upon the success of the individual sports of cross country and swimming, and now we are seeing the benefits, not just from the results but from the enthusiasm of the children. In break times I have seen so much netball and have been delighted to stand back and watch impromptu matches taking place. In a time when England has just become Euro champions, perhaps we have some international players of the future here at Unicorn!

Gold for our Artsmark Award
I am delighted to announce that we have received notification that we have been awarded Gold for our Artsmark Award. Their letter to us stated “Your Statement of Commitment and Case Study have been reviewed by our Levelling Panel and we are delighted to inform you that Unicorn School has been awarded an Artsmark Gold Award. Congratulations!”

Farmers’ Market and Harvest Festival
Thank you to all the parents and pupils for making the Farmers Market such a success; this is now our 4th year of running it and is a highlight in our calendar. We were also delighted to welcome Heather Boxer from West London Action for Children, and Reverend Hart, to our Harvest Festival assembly. The pupils learnt to appreciate the journey taken before food finally arrives on our plate. Thank you for your generosity as gifts were passed on to families in need, as you supported West London Action for Children (WLAC); these acts of kindness really do make a difference.

This year’s Big Draw
This year’s Big Draw, a whole school Art Day, was a great success – the children created an amazing short film about Kew Gardens which you can click on the following link to see We are very grateful for the organisation of our Art Department and the artists from Orleans House who made the day so enjoyable for the children.
