Unicorn School offers the Universal 15 hours of Early Education Funding for 3 and 4 year olds – see the ‘Structure and Billing’ section below for further information.
The daily charge for lunches and snacks is £5.61 and does not attract VAT. A morning snack, a hot lunch and an additional afternoon snack for infants only, prepared daily in our on-site kitchen, are provided for this fee.
The annual residential trip is an important part of the Unicorn experience for older pupils; the costs are as follows: Year 3 & Year 4 (Blue & Indigo) £254, Year 5 (Violet) £628 and Year 6 (UV) £769. This item will appear separately on invoices and does not attract VAT.
Infant fees include weekly swimming and Forest School where applicable. Junior fees include weekly swimming and Thursday clubs (with the exception of horse riding and skiing).
Special Education Needs lessons, outings, swim squad and breakfast club are charged as extras. Individual music lessons and after-school clubs are charged separately.
Unicorn School is non-profit making and is registered as an educational charity. Each family contributes a non-interest bearing loan of £2,500 in exchange for a Loan Note and membership. The Loan Note is repayable after your last child leaves the School.
Invoices for fees are raised on a termly basis and made available online. Payment is due on the first day of each term. In the case of withdrawal of a child, one full term’s notice in writing must be given, by the last day of the previous term, or one term’s fees payable in lieu of notice.
We offer an optional Pupil’s Absence Insurance Scheme, in case a pupil is unable to attend due to illness or accident, and all pupils are covered by a personal accident insurance scheme.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Structure and Billing
Every child deserves the very best start. At Unicorn School, we believe early years are crucial for building a lifelong love of learning, sparking curiosity and developing strong foundations for future success. We offer a nurturing and stimulating environment where your little one can explore, grow and truly flourish, becoming confident, happy and ready for the world.
For each eligible child (i.e. those aged 3 or 4 years old), Unicorn School will assist families to apply for the Early Education Funding (EEF) available from Richmond Borough.
The 15 funded hours each week can be applied to our school day by selecting funded sessions from the tables below. Funded hours will appear on your invoice with a nil cost and additional hours are charged at a rate of £38.90 per hour.

Additional hours and charges can enhance your child’s school experience e.g. through the provision of French language sessions, Forest School, specialist music & PE, computing and swimming, but are entirely voluntary.
An example of our billing structure, for a child attending for mornings only, is set out below. Other attendance structures are available and it is worth noting that as a child’s hours increase, a discount is applied to bring fees in line with our Termly Fees, set out above.
