A school is hard to judge from the outside. What tells you most is half an hour inside the school while it is busy — the noise of it, the pace, the way children say hello to each other in the corridor. So come and see us.
Two ways to see the school
Open Morning — Friday 9 October 2026, 9.30am
Once a term we open the whole school for a morning. Allow up to ninety minutes.
You’ll see the school in action, meet Mrs Fraley, our Head, and talk to teachers and children.
You’ll also meet current Unicorn parents. They can answer the questions that only another parent really can — what their children are like when they come home, how well the school knows them, what happens when something goes wrong, and what being part of the Unicorn community is actually like.
It is a chance to look around properly, ask questions and get a feel for an ordinary morning here.
A private tour — on any school day
Come and see Unicorn on an ordinary working day. Lucinda, our Registrar, will show you around at a time that suits you. It takes about thirty minutes — long enough to see the whole school without losing your morning.
You’ll see lessons going on as you walk around, and have plenty of time to ask questions about your child, the year group you are considering and anything else you would like to know.
Many families bring their child with them. It is equally fine to come on your own first and bring them another time.

Which should I choose? Open Morning or tour
There isn’t a better way to visit — choose whichever suits your family.
An Open Morning gives you longer in the school and the chance to meet more of the Unicorn community, including other parents.
A private tour is shorter and more personal, with more time to talk specifically about your child.
Whichever you choose, you will see the school as it really is. We think that matters when you are deciding where your child will spend the next few years.

We are on Kew Road, directly opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens.
By Tube or Overground
Kew Gardens station is around a seven-minute walk from the school.
By bus
The 65 stops at Kew Road / Victoria Gate, about two minutes from our door. It runs between Ealing Broadway and Kingston, and also stops at Richmond station.
If you are coming on the 110, get off at Kew Gardens station and walk from there — the 110 turns off Kew Road before reaching the school.
From Richmond station
It is around a twenty-five minute walk. Most families find it easier to take the 65 from outside the station.
By car
There is on-street parking on residential roads around the school and near Kew Gardens station. Much of the area is within controlled parking zones, so please check the signs where you park.
If you are unsure where best to park, ask us when you book.
What happens afterwards?
After your visit, Lucinda will let you know about availability in your child’s year group and answer any questions that came up while you were here.
If you would like to take the next step, registration costs £50 and places your child on our admissions list.
Where we have a place available, we will explain what happens next and move quickly — we do not leave families waiting unnecessarily for an answer.
And if you are not ready to decide, that is absolutely fine too. There is no obligation after a visit.
One last thing
Choosing a school on paper is difficult.
Results matter. Facilities matter. What a school says about itself matters too. But when you walk through the door, you begin to notice different things: whether the children seem comfortable, how teachers speak to them, whether people know one another, and whether you can picture your own child among them.
That is why we would rather you came to see Unicorn for yourself.
