History

Unicorn School is a parent-owned prep school, founded in Kew, Richmond, by a group of parents and teachers in 1970. They wanted a school that would educate the children and simultaneously let them enjoy the process of learning.

Unicorn School occupies a large Victorian house and adjacent coach house overlooking Kew Gardens. The well-equipped classrooms are bright and airy. There’s a large purpose-built school hall, a library, art room, science room, three music rooms, computer room and a well-maintained garden. Class names are based on colours of the rainbow (Ultra Violet Class being year 6).

Unicorn School is recognised by the Department for Education and Skills. As an IAPS School, it is inspected regularly and accredited by the Independent Schools Council.
