Bursaries

Bursary places of up to 100%

A means-tested bursary gives financial assistance to pupils who might not otherwise be able to benefit from an education at Unicorn School.

Eligible parents and guardians could benefit from a fee discount of up to 100%, depending on the individual and financial circumstances of each applicant.

We are inclusive and pride ourselves on fairness and consistency. As such, all our bursary applications are independently assessed by an external company, who are expert in this field (Bursary Administration Ltd). They will arrange a meeting (usually via Zoom) to validate the information provided, then produce a confidential independent report which will be sent to the school. Final recommendations from this report will be reviewed by a sub-committee of Governors, who will decide whether a bursary is granted.

Any bursary awarded will be means-tested each year.

Examples of eligibility

These examples illustrate the types of families which could benefit from our bursary scheme.

  • Parents both working in low paid employment. Modest home with mortgage.
  • Single parent running own business with very low income. Living in rented accommodation.
  • Parent/Carer unable to secure employment due to poor health.
  • Existing Unicorn pupil where a change in parents’ circumstances has resulted in difficulty in meeting tuition fees.
