Our nursery runs the option of either full or half days Monday – Friday.
The main point of entry is in our nursery class for children as soon as they’ve had their 3rd birthday, or the September after, with a guaranteed reception place the following year. Parents are advised to register their child and to visit the school.

Classes are small, with usually no more than 22 children and many specialist subjects are taught in half classes. We are a one form entry school over eight years with classes named after the colours of the rainbow from Red to Ultra Violet.

Parents are advised to register their child and visit the School. We give priority to siblings and the children of past Unicorns. Places are offered during the course of the school year prior to entry.
Children are admitted to our Nursery Class (Red Class) either as soon as they have turned 3 or in the September after their third birthday. This is the main point of entry with a guaranteed place in Reception (Orange Class) the following year.
Occasional places do become available throughout the school and are offered at the discretion of the Headteacher. The same admissions’ criteria apply for places in established classes. It is important that children joining Unicorn at a later stage are academically and socially suited to the established class.
For Nursery and Reception, we are non-selective. For all other classes you will need to provide school reports and any other relevant assessments. Your child will be given an informal interview and gentle assessment in reading and maths.
